From Bayside, NY... Zach Mellado is one of the great young actors of his generation. Often referred to as "Young Brando" or "Baby Brando", it's clear who Zach aims to mold himself after in showbiz. A ballplayer all his life, Zach got into acting by total accident.

After playing 2 years of D3 Collegiate Baseball, a lack of playing time forced him to walk away from the game he loved. Taking an Introduction to Acting Course at Baruch College with the great Broadway performer Dominique Plaisant, for "elective credit", Zach discovered his true passion in life: acting.

Mrs. Plaisant encouraged him to try out for the college's play for extra credit, stating that should he land a role he would not have to accept it... merely showing up at the audition would secure him a better grade for the semester.

Lo and behold, he "accidentally" was cast as the lead (Dr. Sugar) in Tennessee Williams' classic, "Suddenly, Last Summer", directed by the great Christopher Scott. For the most part, he didn't take the shows seriously, often partying and womanizing before and after performances.

Despite his lack of focus, he was met with rave reviews for his portrayal of Dr. Sugar. Upon learning of the positive critical reception of the shows, Zach decided he wanted to take this whole acting thing seriously.

Eventually, Zach found his way into classes at TGW Acting Studio, studying under the great Thomas G. Waites, who Zach credits with building the foundation of his craft. It was clear from the start that Zach was a raw, natural talent, but with Thomas G.

Waites' tutelage he was able to establish himself as a promising young up and comer in the theatre.Having found his craft, Zach decided he wanted to team up with the man who gave him his first shot in acting, Christopher Scott, yet again for a Baruch College production.

The production that semester was Federico García Lorca's "Blood Wedding". Originally drawn to the role of "Leonardo", Zach was determined to take a lesser role to ease the workload and physical toll that live theatre puts on an actor.

Despite acing his audition, Christopher Scott personally asked Zach to take on the lead role of "The Groom", telling him "I need my best actor in this role. Nobody else has what it takes to portray the growth and evolution that the Groom undergoes throughout this play".

Zach reluctantly took on the larger role, and it was probably one of the best decisions he ever made.Met again with rave reviews for his performances, Zach decided he wanted to move on from the theatre, deciding to take on Film & TV.

The first film he auditioned for was "Reconciliation", a short film shot in Hamden, Connecticut. No surprise, he landed the lead role of "Marcus", a troubled, inner-city youth who finds himself in a hole from which there is no escape.

Zach continued to stay hot, going 4 for 4 (5 for 5 total), booking a lead role in indie films over the course of the first 5 months of 2017. He also managed to land representation, working with CESD for Voice Over/TV/Commercial/Print.

The future is bright for this young star, and it's only a matter of time before this immense talent is shared with the world for all to see."They say there was acting before Marlon Brando, and after Marlon Brando.

.. One day, I hope they say there was acting before Zach Mellado, and after Zach Mellado. I wanna be the best. I'll outwork anybody to leave behind a legacy that solidifies me as one of the greatest of all time.
