A. in the late '70s and early '80s. An accomplished sax player, he was both a sessions/studio player for Chuck E. Weiss (the "Chuck E." in Rickie Lee Jones' eponymous "Chuck E.'s In Love), Tom Waits, Darlene Love, and more, as well as a well-known and highly regarded soloist with a rabid personal following.

His weekly Sunday gigs at a cafe in Venice Beach were consistently sold out, and he was regularly invited and welcomed on stage with local acts like the Dickies, the Untouchables, Black Flag, the Circle Jerks -- virtually any band playing the circuit of storied venues including The Whiskey, the Roxy, and Club Lingerie.
