Nico Casal is a London based composer and performer originally from Galicia in Spain. Nico has composed for for many feature films and short films including the 2016 winner of the Best Short Film at the 2016 Oscars - Stutterer.

Born in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Nico started to study piano when he was 8 at Santiago's Music conservatory. He moved to Vigo in 2004 to focus on his career as a pianist, finishing the Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance in 2009.

Nico started to compose music for short films in 2004. Five years later, when he finished his Piano Performance Degree he decided to focus on film music. He moved to London in September 2011 to study the Master in Music.

Composing for Moving Images at City University London. Nico now lives in London composing for Film and TV.
