Mohammed Al Issa was born on 1971 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia. Mohammed Al Issa is a large investor in the Saudi stock market through his holding company Assila Investments. He owns stakes in Dur Hospitality (formerly called Saudi Hotels & Resorts), Riyad Bank and Savola Group, one of the Kingdom's largest food processors. The latter two are his biggest holdings. His son Abdullah is chairman of Dur Hospitality, which owns and operates hotels in Saudi Arabia, including two Marriott hotels in Riyadh. In 2016, it signed a franchise agreement with Marriott International to expand in the Saudi Arabia, as well as the U.A.E.
