One of Milton's most prolific collaborations is with British director Simon Rumley, with whom he made Red White & Blue; Johnny Frank Garrett's Last Word; and Fashionista, among others. Besides various independent films in the US such as Ela Thier's Tomorrow Ever After and Punching At The Sun by Tanuj Chopra, Milton has also regularly shot features in the U.

These include The Living And The Dead; Crowhurst; and Once Upon A Time In London by Simon Rumley; Daylight Robbery by Paris Leonti; David Rocksavage's family drama Shadows In The Sun, starring screen legend Jean Simmons; and Little Deaths, a psycho-sexual horror anthology by directors Simon Rumley, Sean Hogan, and Andrew Parkinson.

One of his favorite shooting experiences is Vanaja, a drama shot in India that won the Silver Bear at the 2007 Berlin Film Festival for director Rajnesh Domalpalli, followed by two nominations for the 2008 Independent Spirit Awards, including one for Best Cinematography.

Vanaja also garnered Milton the Best Cinematography Award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. Milton has also worked extensively in documentaries. Two forays into this field are Sundaram Tagore's Louis Kahn's Tiger City about one of the 20th Century most influential architects; and The Polygon that explores the human toll of 30 years of nuclear weapons testing by the Soviets in Eastern Kazakhstan.
