Kavitark Ram Shriram was born on 1956 in Menlo Park, California, United States, is Managing Partner, Sherpalo Ventures. An early Google backer, Kavitark Ram Shriram has sold of most of his stock but remains on the board of its parent company, Alphabet. Born in India, Shriram studied math at the University of Madras. After moving to the U.S. he joined Netscape in 1994 as an executive. Later he became president of Junglee, an online comparison shopping firm acquired by Amazon in 1998. Rahm took on a vice president position at Amazon. Since 2000, Shriram has been investing in young technology startups through his firm, Sherpalo Ventures. His portfolio includes Paperless Post, online card invitation service; Gusto, online HR service provider; and InMobi, mobile advertising company.

Shriram started Sherpalo, a venture capital firm that invests in promising new disruptive technologies, in January 2000.

He is a founding board member of Google and [24]7 (24/7 Customer). Shriram is also an investor in a global mobile ad network, InMobi, Search bid management tool Campanja and previously mKhoj. Shriram serves on the boards of Google, Paperless Post, Yubico and Zazzle. He owned 3.4 million shares of Google. As of September 2007, Shriram owned 1.7 million shares of Google.
