Originally from New York, Julie moved to California with her family in 1979. As a child, Julie competed in the U.S. Gymnastic Federation & showed horses, both English & Western. In 1982, Julie made her television debut playing Ricky Schroder girlfriend on NBC's Silver Spoons (1982).
This lead to numerous guest star appearances & many film roles. In 1983, Julie won the Bronze Halo award from the Southern California Motion Picture Council for Best Up & Coming Young Actress & received a Young Artist Award nomination for her work guest starring on TV.

Julie continued to work steadily in both TV & film, and in 1997 Julie co-produced & directed the feature film The Legend of Cryin' Ryan (1998).
Julie shared the award for Best Director of a Feature Film at the Riverrun Int. Film Festival in Sept. 1998, Cryan' Ryan also won Best Picture. Julie lives outside of Los Angeles with her husband, Patrick and their son.
