John Costello III is an elite songwriter, singer, keyboard player and producer. Over the past three decades, he has created and produced thousands of works, hundreds of which can be heard in assorted TV shows, major and independent films, advertising campaigns, video games and on several record labels.
John started playing piano and organ at age 5. He took professional organ lessons, out of which his proficiency and talent grew. Originally from Chicago, John moved to Arizona at the age of 13. John became an adept drummer where he played percussion and keyboards throughout high school.
After graduating in 1981, he attended Arizona State University. John then auditioned and was selected to tour with several original bands including: Miss California, Cheryl Van Cleeve in Atlantic City; QED (which eventually became Coup d'Etat), Band 1208, and others.
In 1987, John along with partner Dawn Kerlin, created their own band called The Connection. The band became very successful, touring worldwide with the USO. The group has performed over 400 AFE/USO shows for military personnel stationed in 28 countries.
John began working as a composer in the late 80s. His production and engineering skills flourished. In 1999, he composed custom tracks for the Fox Family Channel and Fox Kids Cartoons. John has created multiple custom music libraries for countless shows.
Select highlights include creating the theme for Total Access 24/7, plus scoring the music for the animated series NASCAR Racers. He also contributed music to the Transformers: Robots In Disguise series.
He soon became a partner at Whirled Music Publishing and Fervor Records in Arizona, where his music grew to be an integral part of their catalog.
