🌙 Zodiac

Dave Cote’s zodiac sign is Cancer. According to astrologers, the sign of Cancer belongs to the element of Water, just like Scorpio and Pisces. Guided by emotion and their heart, they could have a hard time blending into the world around them. Being ruled by the Moon, phases of the lunar cycle deepen their internal mysteries and create fleeting emotional patterns that are beyond their control. As children, they don't have enough coping and defensive mechanisms for the outer world, and have to be approached with care and understanding, for that is what they give in return.

🌙 Chinese Zodiac Signs

Dave Cote was born in the Year of the Dragon. A powerful sign, those born under the Chinese Zodiac sign of the Dragon are energetic and warm-hearted, charismatic, lucky at love and egotistic. Dave Cote is an actor and film director. He has played numerous leading roles in films such as Killer Bash, The Devil's Tomb, Once Upon a Mattress and Darkest Hour. Cote has played actor and principal roles for many other films and for television, including Watchmen, Smallville, Supernatural and Dead Zone.

Dave Cote's directorial first, "Windup" was a feature film with a cast of 50, shot in over 40 locations, with actors John Read, Lurene Music, Alex Bruhanski, Mel Tuck and Cote as billed cast. Windup was a feat never before accomplished on a budget under $10,000.

Cote took his film, Windup, to the Cannes Film Festival in 2007, to shop it as one of Canada's lowest budget feature films, and to look for interest on his next films, "Inertia" and "Model Culture". In an article titled "Filmmaker smells success at Cannes", it is noted that award-winning writer, Gordy Hoffman, reviewed "Inertia".

Further, "Model Culture" received a distribution deal through the Rogue Arts film company in Los Angeles.David Cote headed a group alongside the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Fire Department, City Hall and Parks and Leisure Services, to help with youth issues within the communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.

Once a government grant was obtained, the money was used to solve initiatives within the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows communities dealing with violence and intimidation, fire safety, and youth employment.

The program was a success, helping raise the youth employment rate, as well as providing new programs for teenagers that would keep them away from the trend of bullying that was on the rise at the time of the grant project.

The $170,000 Youth Services Canada grant inspired Cote to pursue higher education, starting at Douglas College and then finishing at Simon Fraser University. While at Douglas College, Cote was elected to the position of University Transfer Representative.

He used his own experience of being a "highschool dropout" to help guide youth in similar situations towards higher education.David Cote attended Douglas College and Simon Fraser University.David Cote's low budget feature film, "Windup", which is still publicized as Canada's lowest budget movie, received distribution through Rogue Arts in Los Angeles.

This distribution deal was extended to Cote's next films, "Inertia" and "Model Culture". This encouraged Cote to continue to pursue a career as a film maker, and to subsequently produce a documentary titled "Don't Tell My Agent!!!", that features Karl Lagerfeld, Claudia Schiffer, Leonardo Di Caprio, Beyonce and Coolio.
