Born in Whittier, California, Bob Hilgenberg began his career as writer/performer with The Groundlings and Second City, LA. It was at The Second City where he met and began writing with fellow performer Rob Muir.

The newly formed writing team quickly transitioned into feature film writing, with a series of comedy rewrites and pitch sales, all at major studios.Most recent projects include, The Untitled Molly Shannon Project (2013) at Walt Disney Pictures, The Family Circus (2011) a live action comedy for 20th Century Fox and Walden Media.

Meet The Haunteds (2011) with director Steve Carr and Cowboys and Aliens Platinum Studios. An unannounced feature project for Sony Pictures Animation. Walt Disney's Tinkerbell And The Great fairy Rescue released in 2010.

Other recent assignments include the comedy, I Love You Again, for New Line Cinema. Their original screenplay, Scared Guys, is at Sony Pictures with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions. Bob and Rob did rewrites on Stuck On You for the Farrelly Brothers, and they wrote Father Knows Best for Nickelodeon/Paramount.

Their original screenplay, Small World, is in active at Fox.A turning point for Bob & Rob was in 2005, when they were hired to write Monsters Inc. 2 and Toy Story 3 for Walt Disney Pictures. It was their introduction to the world of animated feature films.

..they were hooked!Other assignments include the comedy, I Love You Again, for New Line Cinema. Just prior to their assignments at Disney, they wrote the first draft of the Dennis Quaid, Rene Russo family comedy "Yours, Mine & Ours" for MGM/Paramount.

Off the success of that script, they set up another project at MGM, an original screenplay, "Infantile", which they sold on a pitch and was recently picked up by Disney in turn-around.Their original screenplay, "Scared Guys", is active at Sony Pictures with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions, attached.

Bob and Rob did rewrites on "Stuck On You" for Twentieth Century Fox, and they wrote "Father Knows Best" for Nickelodeon and Paramount. Their original screenplay, "Small World", is in active development at Fox 2000.

In 2003, they wrote and directed their award winning, comedy short film, Hiding In Walls", which starred Jane Lynch (Glee, 40 Year Old Virgin) and Danny Trejo, (Machete, Spy Kids). The film satirizes Bob & Rob's adventures as Hollywood Screenwriters.

Their television writing includes the produced pilot "Grown-Ups", for Columbia/Tri-Star Television. The comedy sitcom starred, Sam Seder, Julie Warner, Farah Forke, Michael Weatherly and Pat Finn.When Bob & Rob are not writing, they like to sit around and talk about how similar their names are.
