Born and raised in New York, Tom Alper moved to California at the age of 17 to pursue a career in journalism. Upon being accepted at the University of Southern California (USC) Tom was informed, during orientation, that his scholarship was only good for 2 years.

So Tom immediately went across town and accepted his admittance to the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). At that point Tom transitioned from journalism to creative writing, specifically short stories and plays.

It was here that he discovered his true passion in life, acting.For the past 25 years, Tom has acted in over 100 projects (plays, television and films.) Regardless of the medium, Tom's presence and passion permeates through every character he portrays.
