Tim graduated with a bachelors degree in theatre from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada in 2002, and that year won the department's "best student-directed production" Hanger award for his adaptation of Fritz Lang's "M".

He began his professional career with performances at Persephone Theatre in Saskatoon, SK, Canada, the Station Arts Centre in Rosthern, SK, Canada, the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival, and Rosebud Theatre in Rosebud, AB, Canada, picking up the Theatre Saskatchewan Award of Excellence for his portrayal of Peachy Weil in Alfred Uhry's "Last Night of Ballyhoo".

in 2006 Tim began coordinating the Performing Arts for At-Risk Youth program at Family Service Saskatoon, and took an early semi-retirement from acting to concentrate on the plight of Saskatoon's inner city youth.

The award-winning program drew accolades, financial endorsements and in-kind donations from the ministry of corrections, local high schools, local drug treatment centers, government youth and family social work agencies, numerous non-profit youth counseling and empowerment organizations, and local first nations band and community leaders.

As Tim focused on social work his acting opportunities were restricted mainly to the summer, and in 2006 he left a steady summer acting job at the Rosthern Station Arts Centre to become the narrator and lead of the Canadian Passion Play in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada.

In the Canadian script, the disciple Matthew weaves back and forth between his older and younger self, experiencing the phenomena of Christ firsthand, and then understanding/explaining it in retrospect.

Tim portrayed the role of Matthew, before crowds of up to 2700 people, for the full 5-year cycle of the script, from 2006 to 2010.In 2012/13 Tim took a leave of absence from his youth work to pursue acting and teaching opportunities in Canada, India and Germany, and these experiences led him to develop a succession plan and formally leave Family Service in mid-2013.

He immediately returned to full-time acting with shows at Persephone Theatre, Western Canadian Theatre, Theatre Northwest and his old friends at Alberta's Rosebud Theatre. In 2014 Tim accepted a scholarship to the Masters program of the New York Film Academy, and moved near to their LA campus in Burbank, California.
