Thorsten has lived, worked, and traveled extensively in both, the largest cities to the most desolate regions of the world. Working on documentaries for theatrical release and prime time television Thorsten is passionate in making films that illuminate the human condition and bring about social change.
Thorsten spent many years in Northern Africa and the Middle East working on documentaries about the political changes of the region and the dynamic social challenges, including a year long stay in Iraq during the war in 2003.
Over a period of more than a decade Thorsten was based in Cairo, Tunis, Washington, Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro.In 2012 Thorsten, his wife and their two children moved to Brooklyn, NY where he works as a freelance Cinematographer.
