Tammy Ari has been entrenched in the industry from a young age as a performer, composer and songwriter. Her journey started form learning piano at 3 years old and soon escalated in to the wider performing space, working with artists and companies such as Disney, The Melbourne Theatre Company, Hugh Jackman, John Wood, Todd McKenney, to name a few.
Tammy won her first piano competition at the age of 4, published her first score at the age of 8 (ANZCA Music Magazine) and was cast for her first professional musical theatre production, Mack & Mable at the age of 10 (The Arts Centre, Melbourne).
Having a family who backed her aspirations, she also went on to learn multiple instruments (Piano, Violin, Singing, Saxophone, Guitar) and trained under some of the best music instructors such as the famous concert pianist, Ronald Farren-Price and his wife, Margaret Farren-Price.
She completed her Associate in Piano (AMusA - awarded by the Music Examinations Board in 2001) and was selected as a junior violinist to train for the prestigious Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Despite strong potential to pursue a classical music performance career, Tammy had her sights set on expanding in to other dimensions of the music world.
The Electronic Dance Music scene gained traction on Tammy's musical horizon, teaming up with internationally regarded DJ/ Producer, Ahmet Atasever in 2008. The pair released two singles, 'Love Fortress' and 'Do You Feel Me' under Vibrate Sounds label with several accolades from the global EDM community.
This then propelled in to a record deal with Detroit USA House Label, Detox Recordings for her fully written and produced single, "The Calm". The track also got the attention of renowned Swedish House DJ, Stone Bridge, propelling in to an opportunity for a re-mixed release.
It was later when Tammy launched her retro/electronic project, Neon Georgie that her alter ego, flexibility and artistic prowess was exposed. With tunes that recall vintage patches, keytars, cheesy synth lines, random reverby patterns and some base lines with old, these little NG tunes took you on a surreal journey in a world, trapped somewhere between the 1970's and today.
Despite it being a 'passion project' for Tammy, the occasional headline show found her band at some of Australia's best venues (e.g. The Hi-Fi Melbourne) with a stellar crowd to match.However, Tammy's depth of experience extends beyond being a performer and composer.
She has delved into 'behind-the-scene' aspects of the industry, working as an entertainment marketer under her former business, Ari Collective. Furthermore, having a passion for developing young talent and helping them to 'think outside the box', Tammy founded the very successful not-for-profit youth arts movement, The Rhythm Project which tracked a successful 7 year journey.
As a result, Tammy's influence in the music scene was officially recognized in 2008 when she was invited by the Australian Federal Government and Music Council of Australia, amongst only 99 other delegates (including major record label heads) to join the panel to discuss plans to shape a successful music industry - the 'Towards 2020 Summit'.
Being the youngest member on the panel highlighted that Tammy had a bright future in the industry.In 2009, Tammy made her first endeavor in to the film and television landscape, landing the official theme song opener for MAX Music Channel's prime show, My First Gig (Jimmy Barnes).
Since this time, she has worked with a broad spectrum of clients such as Disney USA & AUS, American Movie Classics, MTV USA & AUS, MAX Music Channel Australia, HBO, Columbia Pictures, Sirens Media, D.
I.G. Films, Praytell NYC, Porter Novelli, XYZNetworks Pty Ltd, Foxtel Management Pty Ltd, LICKs Productions, World Vision, National Basketball League Australia, Who Gives A Crap and Inspirational Women TV, to name a few.
2017 saw Tammy take her composition career to a new horizon, working for Hans Zimmer's protégé, Michael A. Levine. She was given the opportunity to mentored by Levine and work under him on Disney's, Siren (Season 1) and AMC's, The Son (Season 2).
