In 1995 he was engaged by the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm. He is considered one of Sweden's foremost and most performed playwrights. Penetrating the Swedish soul and society. Depicting the lives of ordinary people with humor, love and great imagination.

Staffan Göthe has written about 30 plays and film scripts. He has received a number of prominent awards, like the Swedish Academy's theatre award and the City of Stockholm's honorary award. Staffan Göthe has, up till now, appeared in 17 feature films and television productions.

He is also Professor at Malmö Theatre Academy.
