Shaleeni Started playing various musical instruments at the young age of two excelling in singing, piano and violin. At the age of 10 Shaleeni was inducted into The Kingswood College junior and senior orchestras being the youngest member to date ever in the senior orchestra, playing various challenging pieces such as Haydn Symphony No 101 D major.
At the the age of 13 she started playing the violin for the Eastern Cape Opera Company doing full arias such as Pirates of Penzance, Handel's Messiah, Die Zauberflöte, Mozart's Requiem and others. At 15 Shaleeni was in the Eastern Cape Youth Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by world renowned Alexander Fokkens where she performed pieces such as, Thunder and Lightning Polka by Strauss, March to the Scaffold by Berlioz, The Lord of The Rings by Whitney and Howard Shore (which was recorded) and The Planets by Holst.
Shaleeni also acted in Mama Mia and played a leading role of Vi Moore in Footloose the musical in 2011 at the regional Rhodes theatre in Grahamstown where she received South African Colours for Acting.
During her schooling career Shaleeni received South African and Provincial Colours for Chamber choir, Chapel Choir, Athletics, Dramatic Arts, Orchestra South African Half Colors in Academics, Technology and Literature this is to show excellence in your field and given to the top 3 percent of the country.
she has acted in an Original Movie Musical where she played the lead role and had a solo song, 3 Seasons of Orange is the New Black, Mysteries of Laura, Lucifer, Wall Street English, The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Short films to Name a few.
Shaleeni also did a solo cabaret performance off Broadway and was in a production of the Wedding Singer musical and a web series called 12 Months of June.Shaleeni has also worked with various notable and Academy award winning/nominated actors such as Jodie Foster, Stellan Skarsgard, Tom Ellis, Blanche Baker, Mindy Kalling, Cassandra Freeman, Kevin Laibson, Tataiana Garcia to name a few.
