Backstage Bistro Award-winning recording artist and Broadway actress Rebecca Spencer (Jekyll and Hyde, Phantom of the Opera) most recently co-starred as Jack's Mother in the star-filled production of Into The Woods at the iconic Hollywood Bowl, directed by Robert Longbottom.

The production was a top ten LA production year-end pick by the LA Times.As an LML Vocal Artist, she recently released Still, Still, Still, a holiday fantasia celebrating the spirit of Christmas, marking her third recording collaboration with Musical Director, and impressionistic concert pianist, Philip Fortenberry (HBO's - Behind The Candleabra).

Sound and Mixing Engineer, Michael Stern (The Shack) served as co-Producer and mastering was completed by Patricia Sullivan (John Williams) at the venerable Bernie Grundman Mastering. Featured guest artists are cellist Moonlight Tran (Las Vegas Phil) and Eric Tewalt (Celine Dion) on the soprano saxophone.

Ms. Spencer served as Executive Producer, and recorded in Hollywood at both East West Studios and the historic Studio A at Capitol Studios.Reaching beyond the fourth wall transitioning from her Broadway career Rebecca has co-starred alongside a myriad of Awarding Winning Film and Television Stars.

Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winning Actor, Richard Jenkins (Olive Kitteridge, The Visitor) cast and directed Rebecca in Adrian Hall's adaptation of A Christmas Carol for the Trinity Repertory Theatre.

She toured nationally in the musical, Man of La Mancha that starred both Hal Linden (Barney Miller) and John Cullum (Northern Exposure), played Marietta the daughter to Rudolfo opposite the 1930's musical film star, Alan Jones (1936 Showboat, Marx Brothers - The Night At The Opera) in Naughty Marietta, and was chosen by the composer and lyricist team of George Forrest and Robert Wright (Kismet) for the role of Marsinah in the Off- B'way production of Kismet.

Rebecca was the first cast to launch the first season of City Center Encores! in Call Me Madam starring Tyne Daly (Cagney & Lacey) and most recently was the stand - by for Betty Buckley (Eight Is Enough) in Grey Gardens for CTG, in LA.

She toured as guest soloist with the Oscar, Emmy, Tony, Grammy and Pulitzer Award winning composer, Marvin Hamlisch and with his blessing she recorded a fresh version of his song, 'The Girl Who Used to Be Me' (Shirley Valentine) with lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman.

Her television credits include Third Watch and Law and Order: SVU.With a stage career based out of New York for three decades, Rebecca starred as Madame Giry in the 25th anniversary world tour of The Phantom Of The Opera, and stood by last season for Broadway legend Betty Buckley in Grey Gardens at the Ahmanson Theatre in LA.

Rebecca created the role of Madame Giry in the $35 million production of Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular, under the direction of Harold Prince. Her acclaimed performances at the Venetian Hotel and Casino continued for over two years.

A review in the Las Vegas Review Journal noted: "There's lots of talent on display at 'Phantom -- The Las Vegas Spectacular,' but the person I can never stop watching is Rebecca Spencer". The role returned Rebecca to the haunts of the Paris Opera House, fifteen years after her debut as Carlotta, performed in German for six months at the Neue Flora Theatre in Mr.

Prince's Hamburg, Germany Company. As an early collaborator, Rebecca was an original Broadway cast member of Jekyll And Hyde and created the role of Lisa (Emma) Carew in the Alley Theatre world premiere, a role she had the opportunity to revisit on Broadway ten years later.

She was an original company member of the Toronto workshop production of Ragtime, directed by Frank Galati. Rebecca has performed principal roles in over 60 opera, national tour, regional and Off-Broadway productions ranging from Cunegonde in Bernstein's Candide To Dolly Levi in Jerry Herman's Hello Dolly.

She has been nominated for several theatre critic awards, from Florida to Arizona.In LA she made her Concert debut at Vitello's, and more recently at The Sorting Room, in Beverly Hills at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.

Her New York City solo concert appearances include the venerable Birdland Jazz Club and Town Hall and she appeared in five Encores! concerts at the City Center. Rebecca has performed in concert as a guest soloist with the Syracuse, New Haven, Detroit, Florida, Indianapolis and Naples Symphonies.

Her Las Vegas debut at the Flamingo Theatre was named as the top concert event of the month by Las Vegas Magazine. She was featured at the Mabel Mercer Foundation's 2004 & 05 NYC Cabaret Conventions. In Las Vegas, she conceived the script for the 2007 Liberace Piano Competitions and co-hosted the international competition.

She was also a monthly performer in the Las Vegas Composer's Showcase. Her many NYC solo concerts include the venerable Birdland Jazz Club, The Laurie Beechman Theatre at The West Bank, NYC Cabaret Convention appearances at Town Hall and Rose Hall/Lincoln Center.

Her debut CD, Wide Awake And Dreaming earned the BackStage Bistro Award and her follow up second CD, Fair Warning, marked her Las Vegas concert debut presented by the Performing Arts Society of Nevada, and was named the top concert event of the month by Las Vegas Magazine.

She was featured on the cover of the Las Vegas Review Journal's NEON Entertainment Magazine.Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from Ithaca College with an emphasis on classical vocal performance.

She has taught Master Classes at Southern Methodist University, Ithaca College, the Governor's School of the Arts in Norfolk, VA, as a faculty member at AMDA - LA, and the educational consortium across Montana.

In Seattle, she was the Music Advisor and Consultant for A Broadway Symphonic Spectacular in a joint effort between the Broadway Bound Children's Theatre and the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra.
