Pantelis Kalatzis was born in Athens in 1984, studied Business Administration and Marketing but decided to follow his love of directing, with studies in England and France. He took his first steps in directing next to famous Greek and foreign creators such as Nikos Koundouros, Nikos Nikolaidis, Bela Tarr and others.
His first movie, a short film, titled "Aposinthesi" (2009) was awarded abroad and so was "Fiji" (2010), a year later for best original screenplay. He then wrote and directed "Parathiro sto oneiro" (2011), as well as the award-winning documentary "Arc of the World" in the same year.
In 2009, he founded his own production company, Showtime Productions , aiming to establish a new philosophy and genre in the Greek market.In November of 2011, Pantelis Kalatzis took on the production of the acclaimed Greek director Nikos Koundouros' last film, "A Ship to Palestine", a film which attracted huge interest from festivals and in 2015 he produced and directed the feature film "Marionetes" (2015).
To this day, he has produced the feature films "The Bachelor" (2016) ,"The Bachelor 2" (2017) and "The Bachelor 3" (2018), "Saison Morte", "Live Better" and "Katafygio 2".In 2020, he will direct the History movie "Pontos" which will be the most expensive Greek production to date.
