Nicole Dunseith is known for her work in Found Family (2020) and Hex Education (2019). She was born Nicole Asami Dunseith in Whittier, California. She grew up in Torrance, California and began acting early in her childhood.
Her first play was in community theatre when she was five-years-old. When she was thirteen she attended Tim Robbin's Actor's Gang summer intensive and was invited to join their tour of Romeo and Juliet as Juliet but turned it down.
She also briefly studied with Lori Lively. Throughout her childhood and her teens, she has appeared in theatre, print, commercials, and PSAs. Her life was devoted to acting until her grandmother passed away from ovarian cancer when she was 15-years-old.
In the last few weeks of her grandmother's life, Nicole was her caregiver--discovering a love of medicine.She left California and abandoned acting when she went to college in Missouri. There she studied Health Science and pre-med.
She worked as a research assistant for her university's health department. She helped author research articles, taught intervention courses, and advocated for health reforms on Capitol Hill. Her primary interests focused on substance abuse prevention, social competency building for at-risk youth, and sex education.
However, while studying for the MCAT in her junior year, Dunseith abandoned medicine to reconnect to her career as an actor. She graduated from Truman State University in May 2019 with degrees in Health Science and Theatre and moved back to Los Angeles to train at the Stella Adler Art of Acting Studio.
She has not looked back since leaving the health field and hopes to better connect people to healthy lifestyle changes through the stories she tells. It has become her mission to make entertainment that serves to heal the parts inside us that are broken.
