Moody McCarthy (born Matthew Patrick McCarthy) is an American stand-up comedian who has made multiple network TV appearances. McCarthy was raised in Syracuse, NY, the 6th of 7 children, and graduated from Corcoran High School in 1984, before attending New York University.
Moody began his comedy career in Syracuse in 1992 and from 1994-95 covered sports on WYYY's ("Y94FM") morning show. He is still a regular guest on WTKW ("TK99") with "Gomez & Dave in the Morning".McCarthy has made appearances on "The Late Show with David Letterman" July 12th, 2012 and September 5th, 2014.
His first network appearance was on the re-vamped "Star Search" in 2003. Moody also appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in 2004, and was a semi-finalist on "Last Comic Standing" in 2006. In 2014 he advanced to the 2nd round of "America's Got Talent" but was not shown performing in the telecast.
