Michael Morano was born on January 22, 1963 in Poughkeepsie, New York to an Italian American family. Michael was raised in Poughkeepsie's Little Italy called Mt. Carmel Square, where immigrant grandparent's (Assunta and Pietro Marcinelli) settled when they came over from Italy.
Michael's parents divorced when he was 8 years old, leaving his mother (Loreta Marcinelli) to raise 3 children on a small pay check. Struggling to make ends meet, Loreta always made sure the house was filled with love and strong family values.
Michael's father (Allie G Morano Sr.), was a blue collar independent carpenter. Michael could never sit still. From a very young age he found himself mimicking characters from classic movies during the commercials.
When Michael was 3 years old, he put a mop on his head and sang into a wooden spoon. His mother said; "Michael!" What am I going to do with you!?" Michael replied; "Send me to Hollywood mommy!"In 1976 at the age of 13, Michael started playing the drums professionally putting together his own band.
He went on to play drums and sing in some of the best jazz and wedding bands in the Hudson Valley. Michael got hooked on acting, and at the age of 20, in 1983, he moved to Hollywood California to study acting.
Throughout his career he has studied with such acting teachers as; Bobby Hoffman - LA, Edward Morehouse, HB Studio - NYC, Roger Simon Studio - NYC. While waiting tables at Joe Allen's Restaurant, he charmed the owner of Commercial Unlimited Agency with a large bowl of green olives for her martini.
He was signed on the spot. Michael booked his very first audition right out of the gate, it was never done with before with that agency. It was a national Burger King spot. He booked over 20 commercials in 6 years and has performed on numerous stages as actor and singer/entertainer.
In 1989, Michael took a leave of absence from Hollywood to go back to New York to care for his ill mother. It was at this time when Michael found out he was going to be a father. For the next 21 years Michael single handedly raised his son in New York close to his family.
It wasn't until 2011 that he came back to Hollywood to finish what he started. Now, adding screenwriter to his diverse skills, Michael has finished many screenplays, pilots and has been in movies such as "Bride+1" - romantic comedy, "Insight" - action drama and directed and starred in a music video - "No One Ever Tells You".
As singer/entertainer Michael has headlined on many stages in the Los Angeles area, such as the famous Herb Albert's Vibrato Jazz and Grill swinging the songs of The Great American Songbook, such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
