Marcus André was born as Marcos André Marçal Araújo in Portimão, Portugal, the son of Felisbela Marçal Araújo, a librarian, and Nuno Gonçalo Varela Araújo, a car seller.He spent most of his childhood living with his parents, and left home at the age of 15 to pursue his career in acting.

He enrolled at the Professional Theatre School of Cascais, where he graduated at the age of 18 and got his Straight/Physical Acting Diploma.Soon afterwards, Marcus joined a professional theatre company as a resident actor, and director assistant.

In the meanwhile he played various roles in several Tv productions in Portugal.At the end of 2012, the young actor decided to take the leap and move to London, where he joined the dance company NuTempo, directed by the Choreographer Everaldo Pereira.

In 2013, Marcus won a place at KSA Performing Arts where he completed his BA in Musical Theatre.
