Well known for his role as Sergeant Davis Quinton on 6 seasons of International Emmy-nominated comedy Corner Gas (2004), Lorne Cardinal has acquired close to 100 professional Film & TV credits including feature films Never Steady, Never Still (2017), Gods Acre (2016) and FX's Fargo (2014).Throughout his career, Lorne's received numerous nominations and distinguished awards for his body of work and is the recipient of an honorary PhD from Thompson Rivers University.A classically trained actor, Lorne's acted and directed in a diverse range of theatre productions such as King Lear, on Canada's premiere A-house stage at the National Arts Centre, and Black Elk Speaks at the Denver Center.Lorne's varied skill set also includes writing, directing for TV as well as producing the documentary Chasing Lear (2016). And, as a sought after voice actor, Mr. Cardinal has starred in award-winning animated series, most recently as Sheriff Gordy in Sony's Open Season: Scared Silly (2015) and he'll reprise his beloved role of Davis in the much anticipated Corner Gas: The Animated Series.

1993

Cardinal obtained a B.F.A. degree in acting from the University of Alberta in 1993, becoming the first Aboriginal student ever to do so.

2011

Cardinal currently resides on the coast of British Columbia with his partner, Producer, Writer and Comedian Monique Hurteau. His brother Lewis, a Business consultant and human rights Activist in Edmonton, was a New Democratic Party candidate in the 2011 federal election.

2014

Cardinal is working on a documentary film titled The Making of King Lear (working title) with producers Jeff Dorn and Monique Hurteau for an anticipated 2014 release. The Making of King Lear is about the National Arts Centre theatre production of King Lear, with an all-Aboriginal cast which included August Schellenberg as Lear, Billy Merasty, Jani Lauzon, Tantoo Cardinal, Kevin Loring, and Craig Lauzon, with Cardinal doing double-duty as both assistant Director and the role of Duke of Albany.
