In the 50s he became one of the most popular Swedish singers with songs like "Cindy Min Cindy", "Tulpaner Från Amsterdam", "Volare", "Piccolissima Serenata".

In 1962 he became the first artist to top the new started hit chart "Svensktoppen", the song were "Midnattstango". Osmond Brothers recorded songs with Lasse in the mid 60s and Anni-Frid from "Abba" toured with him in the later 60s.

In December 1970, Lasse's daughter and her mother were killed in an accident in USA and that became a big tragedy and slowed down his very hot career, but despite that, he had a remarkable way of keeping his fans and his reputation is well known even in these days, with over 50 big tours.

From 1962 and onwards he had 37 hit songs on the Swedish hit chart "Svensktoppen".
