He attended Fordham University for theatre acting and screen-writing. He credits director Martin Scorseses Mean Streets (1973) and Raging Bull (1980) as seminal influences. For Kresh, the world of movies was definitely an escape from the harsh realities on the mean streets of the Bronx.
His first stage performances were at the Common Basis Theater, working with his teachers, Sheila Gray, Marcia Haufrecht and Greta Seacat. Perhaps influenced by his love for Scorsese films, Kresh's first three experiences in the movie business were film that starred Robert De Niro.
