Kirk Shaw is one of the leading independent filmmakers in the US having produced 240 films. Kirk has a proven, innovative approach to financing and packaging television and film content around the world including Canada, many US states, Europe, Asia, Australia and South America.

In an industry often more interested in the bottom line than artistic merit, Kirk is equally proud that his producer resume illustrates a strong creative balance between strictly commercial films and more meaningful artistic film endeavors that can also turn a profit for the producer and investors.

In September 2017, Kirk Shaw embraced a new film-making adventure by forming the publicly traded company, Wonderfilm, as a founding producer along with Dan Grodnik, Jeff Bowler and Bret Saxon. Wonderfilm has a $60 million slate of production in place for 2018 with one of the first films under this new venture being Moose, with John Travolta, followed by Nicolas Cage in Primal, going to camera in Puerto Rico.

Shaw has worked with all the major studios over his 30 year career, contributed his creative and financing talents to the Oscar winning, The Hurt Locker and worked with many notable stars such as Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Cuba Gooding Jr.

, Kim Basinger, John Travolta, Nicolas Cage, Jean Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone.Kirk began producing television films and series in the mid-90s, incrementally building his company, Insight Film Studios, into Canada's largest independent production house.

Between 2005 and 2008, Kirk's annual production budgets reached $200 million. Among Kirk's leading television productions at the time were the Lifetime series "Blood Ties" and the SyFy series "Painkiller Jane.

" Kirk's feature films included, "When A Man Falls" staring Timothy Hutton and Sharon Stone and "Battle in Seattle" directed by Stuart Townsend and "Personal Effects" starring Ashton Kutcher. In 2009 Kirk Shaw stepped away from a production emphasis to begin actively packaging and finance co-productions.

Kirk was now free to integrate years of practical producer acumen with his financing and film-packaging strengths to develop a successful new model based on low-risk international co-production opportunities.

Supported by a $25 million investment fund, in 2014, Shaw's total aggregate production budgets exceeded $70 million while shooting films all over the world. Shaw packaged and green-lit 20 movies that year, including "Drive Hard" with John Cusack and Thomas Jane shot in Australia, "Pound of Flesh" with the Muscles from Brussels, Jean Claude Van Damme shot in China, as well as the best-selling novel adaptation, "The Town That Came A-Courtin'" featuring Valerie Harper.

2019 finds Shaw continuing to produce, package and finance films as CEO of Wonderfilm Media Inc. along with his producing partners.
