Julie Cobb was born on May 29, 1947 in  Los Angeles, California, United States, is Actress, Writer, Director. Julie was born into a theatrical family. Her mother was the renowned Yiddish stage and film actress Helen Beverley and her father was the award winning actor Lee J. Cobb. Her grandparents on her mother's side were also performers and theater owners. Involved in theater at Beverly Hills High School with classmates Richard Dreyfuss and Albert Brooks among others, she followed her pursuit to San Francisco State University. She left college to begin working in Los Angeles. She has appeared in over seventy television programs in her over forty year career. She's remembered as Jill Pembroke on the CBS series Charles in Charge and has had recurring roles on Knot's Landing, Family Ties, Magnum P.I., Hearts Afire, Judging Amy and others. At Company of Angels Theater she was awarded the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for her performance as Maggie in Arthur Miller's After the Fall and won the same honor in addition to the Dramalogue Award for her direction of Reginald Rose's Twelve Angry Men. Julie is also a published writer. Her column The Path appeared in the magazine journal Country Connections for several years. Trained and certified by Coaches Training Institute, she worked with clients helping them realize their most productive selves. Her daughter Rosemary Morgan continued in the family business as an actress before becoming a practicing attorney. The first film Julie wrote and directed, Night Vet, won best short at Lady Filmmakers Festival.

1968

Cobb's career has lasted for over forty years which mostly consists of guest appearances on television shows. Her first credited role was in an episode of Star Trek entitled "By Any Other Name", which was first broadcast on February 23, 1968. She was the only female Redshirt to be killed in the original series. She played the matriarch of the Pembroke family on the first season of the television sitcom Charles in Charge, and appeared on the short-lived television series The D.A..

1974

Her film career has included roles in The Second Coming of Suzanne (1974), Just You and Me, Kid (1979), The Runnin' Kind (1989), Lisa (1990), Defending Your Life (1991) and Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde (1995). She also appeared in the TV movie versions of Salem's Lot (1979) and Brave New World (1980). As a stage Actress, she won the L.A. Drama Critics Award for her role in a stage production of Arthur Miller's play After the Fall.

1986

She has been married four times. Her fourth husband was the actor James Cromwell whom she married on May 29, 1986; the marriage ended in a divorce in 2005.
