Bobin was raised in Titchfield, near Fareham, in Hampshire. His father, David Bobin, a Sports broadcaster employed by Sky Sports, died on May 24, 2017. He was educated at Portsmouth Grammar School and then studied History at Oxford University. He is married to Francesca Beauman and has three children.
