Henadiy Boholyubov

Henadiy Boholyubov was born on 1961 in Dneptopetrovsk, Ukraine, Ukraine. Henadiy Boholyubov and Ihor Kolomoysky founded PrivatBank with $1 million in capital in the early 1990s. Over the years it grew to be a key bank in Ukraine, handling more than a third of private deposits and serving approximately half of the country's entire population. Then in 2016, Ukraine's government nationalized the bank. Boholyubov has other assets including an oil business and ferroalloys manufacturer. He agreed in November 2016 to sell his Australian ferroalloys company Consolidated Minerals to China's Tian Yuan Manganese. He is a generous donor to jewish causes.

In 2010, Bogolyubov was reported as being the third richest Ukrainian, having a net worth of $5.429 billion.

2015

In April 2015, it was reported that he had settled out of court with his rabbi, Yonah Pruss, who had sought over £20 million, over "two major London property deals".

2016

It was reported in The Guardian that Bogolyubov had acquired Cypriot citizenship in 2016 through a "Golden visa" scheme, "as a result of him having made substantial Investments in the country (via certain companies) and being fully compliant with the legal requirements at the time".

2017

In November 2017 Bogolyubov officially declared that he was a citizen of Ukraine, Great Britain, Israel and Cyprus. He also noted that he lives in Geneva, Switzerland.
