With his mother, Marci Seidman, a teacher who has read almost every book in existence, and his father Randy Seidman the Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers TV producer for PRISM and Sportschannel, it was kismet that Eric would one day work in the film industry.

Though he wrote a plethora of short stories and such throughout school, his first experience with actual script-writing came in 2002, his junior year of high school, when his class entered into the Philadelphia Young Playwright's Competition.

The process of writing a script and communicating through character's was one he enjoyed immensely and there was an instant connection. He finished 5th in the city in the competition. His next experience with writing would prove to be the most important of his life.

In his senior year of high school, Seidman wrote a feature length script titled "It's Go Time", about four high school sports fanatics who garner their own ESPN debate show. The script was entered into a film festival by his teacher and two months later it was learned that he, an 18 year old, had won first prize for best overall screenplay at that very festival.

From there, Seidman knew he was meant to write, and needed no more signs or motivation. In the winter of 2004, Seidman wanted to try his hand at directing, so he wrote a short film about high school baseball players reminiscing on their time together.

With the success of his short and a best overall screenplay under his belt at the age of 19, Seidman was contacted by Rob Kelly and Miriam Schalit, respectively about writing scripts for their companies 'Seven Tower Productions' and 'Rude Dog Productions'.

Phoenix Rising (2006), the script with Shalit is making a festival circuit in 2007.In July 2006, he wrote and directed his second short film, "All the Wrong Moves" which is on the festival circuit in early 2007.

His screenplay 5:57 (2009) was optioned by well-known producer Fred C. Caruso and Diana 'Dilee' Maher and is currently in pre-production.He was hired by Joseph Lekach and David J. Yaffe of Lucky Dog Entertainment, in the summer of 2006, to be head writer and pen the pilot of a TV series currently being developed.
