To 2010 she is the only Bulgarian actress with a starring role in a film of official selection at the Cannes Film Festival. Dessy Tenekedjieva was born on April 12, in Varna, in the family of Bulgarian and Ukrainian Jew.
Her father is an engineer, her mother is a teacher of French. As a child Dessy was practicing gymnastics and tennis. She completed his secondary education in Varna.
