David and Jeff met at The Groundlings Theatre in 2010, and have been a writing team ever since. Curious to see if anyone was actually reading their writing samples, they began submitting an absurd sketch packet for a made up 1970's comedy duo "Tomato Face and Jew.
" Inside each submission they included a loose cigarette and a video of what they would be like in a writers room. They included credits like Tomato Face's one man show Leif Garrets Dick, and their classic 70's Pinto bust ups.
This lead to the pilot, "The 70's Guys" which lead them to the Verve literary agency. Since then they've been staff writers, story editors, and co-producers. Jeff is 160 pounds.
