Elected to BAFTA (British Academy of Film & Television Arts) in 2002, he is known for his work on Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) (with Kevin Costner & Morgan Freeman); with Oliver Reed on the classic Orpheus & Eurydice (2000); and on Olympiad 448 BC: Olympiad of Ancient Hellas (2004) (starring alongside Roy Dotrice and Brian Blessed).

His portfolio also includes a unique film project with legendary German screen star Maria Schell on the sequel to 'Occupation' (headlining screen 'greats' Kurt Jürgens and Klaus Kinski); and further credits on such as Rebus: The Falls (2006) starring Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones (2011)).

Originating from Bolton, England, David's earlier formative years in media and drama were spent in England, Europe, Asia, and America , enhanced with later developmental work at RADA in London. In addition to television appearances in English favorites such as 'Eastenders', 'Rebus', 'Poirot', 'The Bill', 'Coronation Street', etc.

One of his favorite memories, he recalls, was playing 'Mac' in Carnaby Film's quirky comedy Lighthouse Hill (2004) together with Frank Finlay and UK comedy icons Maureen Lipman and John Sessions.On Stage his early theatrical appearances list "Canterbury Tales" (The Miller), "As You Like It" (Jacques), "Blithe Spirit" (Dr Bradman), "A Man For All Seasons" (Lord Chapuys).

This love of theatre led to him starring as 'Big Danny' in the UK stage tour of 'The Hardman' (the hard-hitting life story of Scottish gangster Jimmy Boyle based on Boyle's own book, 'Sense Of Freedom'), and later, under acclaimed American theatre director Elizabeth Sharland, as Victorian stage icon 'Henry Irving' in Sharland's London production of "A Shakespeare Anthology".

These days he is enjoying increasing interest from both sides of 'the pond', as can be seen by his recent attachment on the forthcoming American US$100 Million dollar 'superhero' epic Axa.But he is ever the 'Philosopher' .
