Daniele Perna literally grew up in theaters, as the son of a director and choreographer. His passion for culture, art, history and design, was pronounced by his decision to pursue scenography at a very young age, and was nurtured during his study of the field, which encompassed architecture, interior design, art history, sculpture and lighting design.
After working with numerous well-known personalities and professionals including Al Franken, Andre Gregory, Bill Cosby, Billy Joel, Conan O'Brien, Dana Carvey, Eugene Lee, Harold Prince, Jerry Zaks, Little Richard, Louis Malle, Robert Smigel, and Phil Ramone, as well as with the major corporations NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox, Paramount Pictures, Rainbow Media, and in a variety of theater projects, among them, the New York Shakespeare Festival, White River Theater Festival, Theater for the New City and the American Place Theater, Perna left scenography in pursuit of developing his own ideas and vision.
Perna's approach to design goes beyond aesthetics. He believes that designers should concern themselves with the evolution of humanity - the way people think, live and feel. Perna has long recognized that design has the capacity to make an individual feel as though they live in a time of great thought and respect for their fellow humans.
As a multi-disciplinary interior designer, Perna continues to search for inspiration while inspiring, content in the knowledge that as humanity evolves, we learn that it all comes down to a quality of life, where design has the potential to change our emotional state, the way we think, and choose to live.
Daniele is married to Lynn Zilka. They reside in Manhattan with their daughter, Isabella Zosima.
