Saavedra has directed the feature films "Sherman's Way" (James LeGros, Enrico Colantoni, Michael Shulman and Donna Murphy) and "Rhapsody In Bloom" (Penelope Ann Miller and Ron Silver).Starry Night has produced and/or been a major investor on Broadway and West End productions such as Jez Butterworth's "The Ferryman," "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" (Liev Schreiber, Janet McTeer), "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" (Neil Patrick Harris, Darren Criss), "Henry V" (Jude Law), "Peter and Alice" (Judi Dench), "The Elephant Man" (Bradley Cooper), "The Cripple of Inishmaan" (Daniel Radcliffe), "After Midnight" and Craig Wright's "Mistakes Were Made" (Michael Shannon) at Off-Broadway's Barrow Street Theatre (Time Magazine's Top Ten Plays of the Year).

Saavedra lives in Los Angeles and New York with his husband, cinematographer Joaquin Sedillo.
