He was born in Longview, Washington and has an older brother named Rhett who works in the construction safety industry and is an ex-college football player at Central Washington University. His parents are retired school teachers/coaches who put in a total of over 75 years combined at Kelso High School. He married his wife Kelly, originally from Lexington, Kentucky, on May 17th, 2014. He and Kelly have two dogs named Dax & Trip.
