Minihan is known for co-creating the popular Grave Encounters (2011) franchise. Recently, Minihan co-wrote and directed It Stains the Sands Red (2016), winner of the Midnight Extreme Award at The Sitges International Film Festival (2016).

It Stains The Sands Red had its North American premier at the LA Film Festival (2017) and was released by Dark Sky Films. Other feature length credits include co-writing and directing Extraterrestrial (2014) which premiered at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival and was released theatrically by IFC Midnight.

Minihan also founded the independent production company Digital Interference and has recently wrapped production on Still/Born (2017), awarded "The Scariest Film" at The Overlook Film Festival and is being released by Vertical Entertainment and AMC's Shudder in 2018.

As a music video director, Minihan won the Much Music Video Director of The Year Award (2009) and has directed nearly one hundred music videos for a wide range of artists including Carly Rae Jepsen, Hedley, Papa Roach, Marianas Trench, Protest The Hero, Mother Mother and many more.
