Scripps publishing heiress who was tragically murdered by her second husband, a house painter named Scott Douglas. Tragically her daughter went on to jump off the same bridge that her mother's killer jumped off after the murder.

After she was murdered, Scripps' three-year-old daughter, Victoria, indicated that her father, Scott Douglas, had committed the crime.
Trivia
She died in the hospital a week after being bludgeoned in her sleep by her second husband, and while she lay dying, Anthony Morrell (her first husband), who was suffering from advanced liver cirrhosis, left his own hospital bed to be by her side. After Scripps died, her liver was transferred to Morrell, saving his life.
Family Life
Her grandfather, James E. Scripps, founded the Detroit News. Anne Scripps was married twice: to stockbroker Anthony Morrell, with whom she had two daughters, and later to her murderer, Scott Douglas, with whom she had a third daughter.
