Andreas (aka "Andy") Alesik (40) was born on November 27, 1978 in Nuremberg (Bavaria) into a Czech-Greek family. After his time in the navy, he studied media design at the GSO University of Applied Sciences with a focus on visual effects for feature film productions.

During his studies in 2004, he began to work as a freelance VFX artist in Munich for the internationally renowned company ARRI. In 2008 he graduated from the GSO with a university award. In his professional career, Andreas provided VFX services to some of the world's most famous and leading VFX houses, including ILM, Cinesite, Ghost and Pixomondo.

Andreas is the sole owner of Batelion. The New York-based company focuses on VFX services for independent film productions. Andreas lives with his wife and daughter (4) in Nuremberg.
